Stillness

Katdream

confined in frozen shanties
fishhooks lowered
gives credence to bounties yet unknown
daydreaming in deafening silence
smelt cooking over burning coals

introverted internment
self-inflicted
reflection prescribed
open wounds tended to
healing comes gently

stillness
winter’s spell
alone on a lake
with hook and hope
still searching for serenity
