Nubianpoet

What was it in your face,
That made me stare and smile?
You helped me to forget my worries,
If just for a little while.

What was it that you said,
To make me think of you so often?
The three words, ‘I love you,’
I have never quite forgotten.

What was it that you tasted,
That you said was worth more than money,
It was my luscious brown lips,
That you said reminded you of honey.

What was it that I touched,
You said it was my heart?
You said you had to have me,
Right from the very start.

What was it that you smelled,
You said my scent was that of a Rose?
From the top of my head,
To the tips of my toes.

So, though we are miles apart,
You hold the keys to my heart.
I miss seeing you each and every day,
But to keep you safe to our God I pray.
