I hate the games that our generation likes to play,

And it has made me lose faith in trying to find love someday.

Because no one can actually choose to say how they feel,

And no one wants to admit it and just be real.

Because our generation loves to play games when it comes to love,

And as a hopeless romantic, this is not the kind of love story that we dreamed of.

The one where you are scared to say what is on your mind,

Because nowadays people love to act as if love is blind.

And someone may feel the same way, but they will never admit it,

Because instead of letting their feelings show, they don’t want their egos to take the hit.

And on the off chance that you do feel the same,

They won’t admit it because they still want to play the game.

And the second that they find out you have feelings for them,

They try to play down how they feel and act as if they are numb.

Because rather than be in a relationship, they want to continue to chase,

And they’ll act like they never had feelings for you in the first place.

No matter what you do, they will always want what they can’t obtain,

Because they want to see how far you will go to have them remember your name.

And all they want is for you to stay invested so you can give their ego increase,

Because they don’t care about you, they just want to keep you as a piece.

As an option in case things don’t work out with another,

When the whole time they could have been honest with you so you could go find another.

But deep down, they don’t want to let you go,

Because it will reinstate in them what they already know.

That they can try all they want to find someone to replace you,

But you and I both know that that is something that you will never be able to do.

Because he thinks he will find someone better, and he thinks he will be able to replace you,

But you and I both know that that is not true.

And you know when it doesn’t workout they will come crying back,

Because what you had is something special that the rest of them will lack.

Because you can only play games with someone for so long,

Before they show you that they can also play along.

And the roles will be reversed and they will try to get you once again,

But they are not worthy of being a partner, hell, they are not even worthy of being your friend.
