Dead Inside

daphne_398

A clandestine thought,

The presence of dearth of heart

Flowers blossom in the minds

But chests remain empty throughout

All smiles seem to fade away

All that remains is the constant stare

No one can look away,

Truth standing here, staring us in the face

Bodily pleasure is all that we seek for

Forgot what souls and hearts ever looked like

Running behind money, numbers and indifference

Crushing hope and aspirations with a spike

Serenity leaks out of the mind’s door

Constantly seeking to replace that poison

The poison of utter chaos and emptiness

But now the heart just beats and not feels

Existing like a living corpse

Body rotting in old age, mind rotting faster

Have we stopped caring

Or we really can’t care at all?
