the mourning doves call

p0em.writter

The sun rose slowly,

~

casting a warm golden light over the earth.

~

A soft breeze blew,

~

causing the leaves on the trees to rustle gently.

~

The scent of blooming flowers filled the air,

~

filling the hearts and souls of those who took notice.

~

In the midst of this peaceful scene,

~

a mourning dove began to sing its soft,

~

melancholy call.

~

The sound was like a whisper,

~

as if the dove knew something that the others did not.

~

As the dove's call soared through the air,

~

those nearby realized that something was amiss.

~

It was as if the dove's song was a reminder of the fleeting nature of life itself.

~

The beauty of the moment was not lost on those who heard the call, but instead,

~

it was a reminder to cherish each moment,

~

for they might be the last.

~

As the dove's call faded away,

~

the others realized that they were saying goodbye to someone who was no longer with them.

~

It was a reminder that every day is a gift,

~

and that life is a journey that each of us must take alone.

  • Comment from author about the poem: ~~~ now that you seen this piece? I wanted to portray the mourning dove\\\'s song as a hypnotic tune that just brings peace of mind. Knowing that something special is happening, and there is no need to be worried, scared or frightened, is a safe zone, like a person crossing over to their other family, knowing that they are not alone, but still with the people they love and who love them. I hope you enjoy this piece!
