I Heard It In A Song

Garth Rakumakoe

I heard it in a song

grasping for reach

on the radio last night

my soul's journey

in the still without light

beyond this earth

our crutched, broken reigns

in convicted, confident solos

-

Borrowing from tomorrow

my sorrow heard it just right

and regretfully, could resonate

to take flight

-

I heard it, in a song

  • Comment from author about the poem: Steps Ahead - Self Portrait : Somehow this song describes my soul's journey, beyond this physical realm. This is where this poem births from. Somewhere deep inside of me. A place even I cannot explain.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Couldn't have said it better. Well quoted. Thank you, much appreciated.

There is so much good music out there which connect with the heart, and most are independent voices Iā€™m afraid! Iā€™m seriously interested in your play list (on the radio.)

Hi P - A pleasure always to engage your appreciation of the written word. It's the internal frequency of life's music I find, most times, that shapes our frame of references, needless to say, a poetic perspective is also a radio frequency in its own write. The kind visit is much appreciated. Looking forward to many more poetic, and musical a sharing.
