Between the Lines: The Truth of Power

GeekSusie

In the halls of power, where whispers breed,

A tale unfolds, a dire creed.

Not just one, but all who lead,

In shadowed acts, their greed they feed.

On left and right, the lines are drawn,

But beneath the masks, the truth is pawned.

For both sides walk in dusk till dawn,

Crafting deeds we'd best forewarn.

Republicans, with stern-faced guise,

Democrats, with hopeful cries,

Each their own truth, each their own lies,

Under the same dark skies.

In corridors where echoes dance,

Both factions give deceit a chance.

For power's call, a deadly trance,

Makes rivals of a shared stance.

Not just the chosen enemy of the week,

But every soul in power's seek.

In whispered halls, the strong prey on the weak,

A cycle grim, a future bleak.

Trust not the words of those who claim

To fight for you, in freedom's name.

For in the end, they play the game,

And we, the pawns, bear silent blame.

So heed this verse, a caution sown,

In politics, true colors shown.

Not left, not right, but power alone,

Builds thrones of lies, from blood and bone.

In today's society, take heed, beware,

Of those who lead, yet do not care.

For in their quest, they strip us bare,

A reminder stark, that all should share.

A great disappointment this: I like a debate, and there is nothing to debate here. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
    Beautifully constructed.
