Your voice

Nicole Pritchard

Being mesmerized by the sound of your voice

It is echoes so loudly within my head

I hear your voice within my own thoughts

You never asked to be there

I have just expected you to be there

Now I depend on your voice

To always guide me through the day

Even though we have never truly met

You have given me so much insight

Of, who I want to be

You are always there to listen

However, your voice is so intoxicating

That I get swallowed up

With the sound of your voice

Is the first thing that i hear

When the new day begins

Then your voice continues throughout my day

More I try to fight it

The louder the voice gets

Why don‘t you come and put this voice to rest

Just come and be in my day to day

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is about a friend of mine that I truly haven't met in person. But this person is the one person I run to call when I need to vent all the good and bad with. Maybe one day we will meet in person. Since it been a very long friendship between us.
