Swan in Me

Introverted Sage

You really want me to blow up the world and everyone in it?
Cash my check and I'll show you how to spend it.
Scars on my back aren't as easily mended.
Breaking down these walls - most I see - were just fences.

Shake waves if you want to make it rain.
Tip your hat to the ones still locked in the game.
A mind reframed.
Sick of being ashamed.
All eyes on me - as I lick my lips and sharpen the blade.

I used to just walk away - turn the other cheek.
Let shit go, guess I was feeling weak.
Back up off this wall now - had to retrain my feet.
Buried me and all, they were sure of my defeat.

But in that ditch - I got real strong.
Looked at myself - reflected on my wrongs.
Crab walk - branch by branch - moving up these prongs.
Nursed my heart back to health - web strengthened by the song.
Ugly duckling turning into the swan.
What I was all along.
