Leave Me to Rot

Morgana

Take my skin.

Take my heart.

Take my kidney.

Take all my fucking parts.

But leave me myself;

And leave me my soul.

Leave me to rot, and die, and grow cold.

You can have my eyes, I don’t need them to see,

I’m more awake than you will ever fucking be.

Nothing you could take was worth the trouble to keep.

So, take what like but leave me me.

Your brain thinks in black and white,

That’s a weakness that you refuse to see.

Your ignorance blinds you to the feelings of others.

But I will not lose myself to the cruelty of another.

If you don’t open your eyes,

I’ll be the one watching you die.

So, you can take all my organs and leave me “empty”.

But you cannot take my spirit,

And as long as I have that, I shall have more than plenty.

So, I dare you: leave me to rot.

But until you stop breathing, I’ll stay planted in your thoughts.

Leave me hollow and rotting and dry;

But my death will not be in vain,

So, fuck you, and goodbye.
