Mon amour

justamerewoman

Mon amour,

My body yearns for you.

For a love that never came to pass

Your touch, once familiar,

No longer resides in me.

Your voice, your laugh, your presence,

Have been yanked away from me,

For my own good.

When my latch wasn't ready to give way

Into a mortal pain from your absence.

I know this will pass,

But your absence drains me.

I can't bear to witness

A grief for an imaginative reality,

Has plagued my existence.

Every glimmer of you gives me supposed hope

But I know I need to let go.

Please leave my mind, I beg of you,

So I can be released from the shackles of this dream

With you staring as the lead character.

A lead I submit to,

Mon amour.
