Happy Birthday George Harrison

Accidental Poet

Known as the “Quiet Beatle”

A description so untrue

A musician, singer and songwriter

All the best included you

Lennon & McCartney

There in the spotlight

You and Ringo played your part

In the backlight

With all due respect

To The Beatles as a whole

To you George I admire the most

Playing lead guitar, you paid the toll

So many songs from my youth

Thanks to The Beatles I grew up

Teaching me about love

From a child to grown-up

But it’s your songs George

That pulls on me most

Was it your lyrics or guitar?

Finding me so engrossed

Heaven is now your home

There with your Sweet Lord

February 25, 1943 you were born

And 81 years later, you’re still adored

Happy Birthday George

My idol in Heaven you stand

Of so many who look up to you

I’m one thankful fan

A fabulous tribute AP to my favourite Beatle who shares the same birth sign as myself. I was lucky enough to see them performing live at Finsbury Park, Astoria, when I was a teenager. He is very much missed, but has left us a wonderful legacy of his work.

Yes Happy Birthday much adored George. Love the music track you have posted here. Got my morning off to a good start.

Thanks for reading and your experience of seeing The Beatles live, an experience I can only wish I myself had seen. This is one of my favs of his songs too. πŸŽΌπŸŽΆπŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Thanks for reading and commenting Andy. I think all the Beatles were great musicians, but George struck me as being a little laid back. He seemed to avoid stardom. Maybe that's why he was known as "The Quiet Beatle". Everyone knows they liked to clown around a lot. πŸŽΌπŸŽΆπŸ‘

I'm a Harrison by birth, I've never changed my name not even for marriage, love absolutely love all the beatles, my mother was a huge fan, this brings back very fond memories of myself and her and I thank you for that. A truly wonderful guitar player 🌹

            • Accidental Poet

Well you're very very welcome on those memories Teddy, I'm glad I could bring those memories back for you. The Beatles were one of the first memories I have of really taking notice of any interests in music. I think I was about 7 years old when they became famous here in the states. I still have my Beatles collection of record albums, almost a complete set. My copy of The White Album is one of the albums with the 7 mistakes in spelling of the songs one the record label. Sadly I think I'll be selling all my record collection as I have no room for the stereo, so I won't be able to play the records. And also, I'm 67 and I figure I can't take them with me when it's my time to go. Oh well. All You Need is Love! ❀️🌹
