Train to Vienna

weltschmerz

Happiness hides between the seats

On the afternoon train to Vienna

See! My heart no longer bleeds

From when he tore it up last December

I find my universe in the azure sky

Always guarding my darling soul

And as time goes by

I watch the spring birds fly

After months of damage control

My breath passes a new set of lungs

There's a light on in my chest

My heart's at home, she's playing her drums

No longer second best

Today I visit my magpie friends

Up and away we float

Today my hands are my hands

I'm man of my own boat

These words I sing to the sun and kiss her good day

This poem I dedicate to the deer born in May

For allowing me to love them fearlessly

And always waiting there for me

When my trust in humanity has gone travelling

The blurry fields and mellow lights pull me right in

And whisper

You, whose bones are made from love

Our sister

You'll find warmth you're worthy of

For now, make do with your largess

Snowdrops they bloom for march

Granting young bees a fanciful dress

Love's a lover's reward
