Wild Thing

Hugh

Head on the table
Watching me
Like the cat that has the cream
Safely locked away

With a smile that says
Kiss me, kiss me
Fall in and swim
A hundred thousand words

Laughing
She says "what"
"Can I read it"
And grins, humming Wild Thing

A slice of life and so very nicely conveyed. Made me smile with the imagery coming through. I hope you kissed her 🙂 I enjoyed my visit here Hugh.

Your poem is wonderfully human and relatable. It genuinely felt like a genuine and spontaneous exchange between friends or lovers.

It was, i remember it clearly, i was trying to write something and as she sat at the other side of the table, i just wrote there and then. It was one of the easiest things i have written
