Solitude

cbrousseau

I dreamt a drop of water
Sparkling and in a fast creek running
Through branches and bramble
Pebbles and stones

I dreamt a snow flake
Light and white and pure
Dancing and tumbling in the wind
Up in the sky

I watched the morning fog
Cover the slumbering forest
Still cloaked in the night’s mysteries
Of far away worlds and strange creatures

I wish I were a poet
Skilled in thoughts and in words
I wish I could bring hope and beauty
From things broken and sorry

But I know

Some gems can’t be seen
Some treasures can’t be touched

But in dreams

Born of a drop of water
Born of a snowflake

On a solitude tread
