The sun stares me down
And I bathe in its heat
It floats above the ground
While I'm bound by my feet
I turn towards the forest
An array of brown and green
An ancient sea of beauty
And the wisdom of its trees
Clouds above me start to form
Foreshadowing a mighty storm
An obstruction of my precious sunlight
I stay in the forest, it holds me tight
These trees have seen many before me
A wealth of stories waiting to be told
And although the rain has started pouring
The trees stand tall, a shield from the cold
The sun no longer stares me down
I've stayed long enough to watch it set
I'm happy here upon the ground
With my forest of friends, who I'm glad to have met
