Running With Scissors

Hugh

Don't fall
Scissors are sharp
Though never quite
As sharp as you think
Even the headlines
You carefully cut out
And paste
As reasons for leaving
The rose tinted memories
And out and out lies

Don't run
Scissors are dangerous
The cut outs
Like ransom notes
Put together
As a version of the truth
To fit a narrative
You change to suit
Singing in harmony
Cutting in silence
