Unconditionally

richi13

I wish…

I wish i could accept the love i deserve

I wish people didn’t take advantage of the love that i crave

I wish i could not care

I wish i could trust

I wish the people who were supposed to show me unconditional love, see the little girl crying in the closet as she still stands with me in the shadows. Under the smiles, trapped in her cycle of trauma.

Why didn’t anyone ask if she was ok?

The only person I trust is that little girl in the closet, as she was always safe. She kept us safe.

I wish people didn’t take advantage of the love I give, because it is genuine.

And know that the little girl crying in the closet, waiting for the door to open, just wants to be loved the way she loves back. Unconditionally.
