A few good men

2781

I know a few good men

Not part of the crowd

There to lend a hand

When no one is around

Standing tall

Not backing down

Not out to pick a fight

Just getting on with their job

Doing what is right

Considering the lowly

Answering the call

Working in the shadows

Lifting those that fall

Closer than a brother

Can be these merry men

The glue to our existence

Foundational

True gems

Hear today

We pass away

In the end

Will they rise

To their surprise

A few good men.

These unsung heroes will always be alive in our hearts.

    Maybe not rare, just unseen?
    Thanks for the comment.

You must be one of the few. 😁

    I'm too lazy.

Your poem wonderfully honors the quiet heroes among us, emphasizing their integrity and selflessness. It's a touching tribute to those who make a difference without seeking recognition.

It was to my few best friends, a tribute. You are right, un-sung, with purpose.

Truly good men who know how to help the world out there, are aware of their capabilities and responsibilities, really enjoyed this one!
