Echoes of Longing

Sho

You and I, a puzzle unsolved,

In your absence, I yearn for your hold,

Through sleepless nights, my longing unfolds.

What am I to you? A friend, a stranger, who?

Why evade a clear answer when asked of your view?

A simple query, yet your response, a misty hue,

Am I but a shadow, a figment to construe?

Yet why this game? What's the gain?

In those moments shared, akin to rain,

I felt on cloud nine, love's sweet refrain,

But now it feels a punch, a bane.

Is my yearning too vast, my love too bold?

Or do my gestures fail, my story untold?

Thank you for the fleeting moments we hold,

In your absence, I found solace, though cold.

Even if you never saw, never knew,

In the time we shared, it was just us two,

Know this truth, my heart, it rings true,

In those moments, I loved you.
