I have to let you go

Vaughn Walker

What if I haven’t been good enough?

Put my best foot forward

Shown you the love I have

Lord knows I’ve tried

To be a good man

I can see the distant look in your eyes

And I begin to crumble

It gets so much worse from here

And I dont think I am ready

To weather another storm

For another endless heartache

First confusion, then anger

I know you’re scared

Memories more distant

Like walking in a thick fog

And I’m so sorry I can’t help you

Find the ones you love

We’ve held on as long as we could

I have to let you go

Because if I don’t

We won’t have anything left for each other

But to leave you in this unfamiliar place

It feels like giving up.

I wish for one moment my voice was clear

And you truly understood

I did it out of love.
