A Light in the Night

Meera Mere

In the depths of night,

He shone like a light.

Blood dripping through eye,

But no one saw him sigh.

With curled up lips,

Crooked smile with all the pain he sips.

Dawn shining through his brown eyes,

He doesn’t pity, other’s petty lies.

Gracing his path without a flinch,

Waiting for his wounds to stitch.

Life goes on, so will he, he chants,

I will make it somehow, he rants.
