divinely doomed

iurissi

"you're beautiful." she says.

"no i'm not. i cant be."

"why not?"

i ignore her.

it makes me uncomfortable, the warmth that word gives me.

"you're beautiful," i say.

her eyes light up, like a fire,

"no, i'm dangerous."

"cant you be both?"

an eyebrow raised, "can't you be one?"

she always pushes me, scares me.

"i dont know." and its the truth.

"why does it scare you?"

"i'm not suposed to be."

she sighs, "how dull life would be if we followed what we were suposed to be."

"it would be safer." i try to reason, but its weak.

she shakes her head, her brow furrowed.

"it would kill us. take away our divinity."

"like gods?"  i'm so weak for her.

"divinely doomed."

"so we're doomed gods."

a smile, twisted at the edges.

"exactly."
