Pebble

Jwan Trottel

The foam of sea

brought you to me

oh precious little pebble

I locked you up

I locked you in

in endless rooms of santal

on cushion pillows, tender

I dressed you up

in soft white silk

you ate all milk and honey

I saw you sigh, I saw you cry

in spite of all

in spite of this

I loved you more

then I could swear

in front of the gods in heaven.

so in the end, I had, my love,

to throw you back,

oh pebble!
