No man's land

Revernd21

There's still a few hours before the sun is up

Though I wish it'll stay down for a bit longer

There are rumours of another push

Into this land either side has yet to conquer

Sending us out again and again like cattle to the slaughter

All this death and what for

This soil tainted with sorrow and despair

Littered by the corpses of those who tried before

I've seen more death than I ever wanted

More sorrow then my heart could bare

Many men asking for protection from their gods

But even the gods ignore their prayers

I'm done with this blood soaked soil

And hiding like a mole beneath the ground

I'm done with the constant screaming

And with the artillery thundering all around

I can't take it no more

When will it end

When will there be peace

Over this godforsaken strip of land
