This is the day!
It’s finally here
I’m up and out of bed
I’ll have a shower,
Trim my beard
I’ll even comb my hair
My suit is clean and pressed
Yes my favourite one
Nothing but the very best
On this day of fun
Time is moving nicely
My plan is perfectly made
And now for a bit of breakfast
Some toast and jam
Not marmalade
I’ll treat myself to honey
In my cup of earl grey tea
After all it’s a special day
I just can’t wait to see
I’ll tidy up my breakfast things
And keep the kitchen clean
Then once more with the hoover
To create a catalogue scene
Now out for a walk
It’s a lovely day
The weather is just right
You know that gentle blowing breeze
The one that’s warm and kind
I hear the birds sing sweetly
I see the flowers grow
The sun is shining brightly
As if all the world says yes I know
Then home again contented
I love the world today
And everyone is forgiven
For all the hurts and pain
And now the time has come
It’s what I’ve been waiting for
An end to all the suffering
And all the highs and lows
I’ve waited for a lifetime
To reach this journeys end
And when I’ve used my final breath
I’ll be home again
And when I meet my maker
I’ll kick him in the shins
And say "you cheeky fucker!"
I won’t go there again!
