A Soldier's Heart

mtrotter1

I twist and turn for you

Like a silver Barbie hanging white

As turtledoves sound off

And a partridge in a pear tree...

Are you impressed that I am dying so long?

To so whatever you think of me,

I am shy two chocolate chip cookies away

From a stone;

For am I stoned in my mind

Or am I stoned in real life?

The bag lady in the park is unknown

To whom this may concern,

The tidal waves never part anyway

For two souls of a soldier never die

And in the back of my eye

I see no such thing as love

For love is prudent in prunes

And all of my money is astray

Oh go away Barbie; go away

Stop hanging white on the dance floor

Deeming your conscience as something to be revealed

A lot of lollies in the lollipops

Dance under the radar

And nothing fixed

Turmoil is a-raising the bar

Hang me with your Skittles

And drown me in oppressed memories

I am no tit for tat;

This jazz tale you give to me,

What are the components in being an idiot?

My hometown is such agleam,

Do you mind blowing off steam?

For a soldier's heart is clean.
