Epitaphium Humanitatis

AuburnScribbler

If wrong is right, then right is wrong,

makes light the dark, and dirge a song,

thus, if life is death, and death is life,

makes pain the joy, and toy a knife,

then if time is coin, and coin is time,

makes rich the wise, and cash divine,

but if bad is good, and good is bad,

makes young the old, and evil glad.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Imagine a world where something is very wrong. Imagine this... It would seem, that with ever so easy repeated villainies, via the enjoyment of such calamitous imperfection, by perfecting their most precious, yet woeful pastime: war, humanity, in both essence, and perhaps purpose, is already dead! Humanity is dead, and has been replaced with fleshling robots, that fulfil sordid protocols, via the rehashing of dangerous popularisms, making up grotesque caricatures called "cultures", in order to retain their subscription to the merry mob. Real thoughts and real feelings, have been replaced by the installation of relentless numbers and orders, that are hypocritically coded by "better bots", and are catastrophically executed to the very letter, by the drove of drones. Thus, in lonely defeat, brought on by a fit of base morbid humility, and an entire loss of hope, the "last remaining human", etches this message, somewhere at a very public place, by way of an epitaph to their entire species, and as the banner picture portrays, roses that were white, are now red, due to them being covered with their agonising and frustrating tears of blood, resulting in their incredibly sorrowful death. Though this scenario is supposed to be a fictious one, the more I look around the real world, the more I see thunderous applause congratulating the wrongs things, and the social cancers, that we so easily choose to either form or to tolerate, could suggest that we ourselves, are already dead too. So, so, sorry, for being a broken record in these "hating humanity" poems, but there really is too much reason. I will endeavour to write a more light-hearted one next time. I hope that you enjoy and get something positive from this, for the billionth time, when will it get any better? And as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Bit of French there, in the title?
Anything 'foreign' is always French to me, being uncultured in languages! lol.

Thanks for the read orchidee, and in terms of the title, I would have thought it would have been all Greek to you! Hahaha!

Of course, you would know the title to be in good old Latin, loosely translated into English as "must do better" or "Epitaph of Humanity", not sure which (winky emoji).

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well.
