Paralysed from the neck down,
Always seemed to smile and not frown.
The man in the iron lung,
Paul Alexander,
Enclosed body in a cylinder,
Who could imagine living life in there?

Like a living hell, surely?
A sort of living entombment, or 'The Man in the Iron Mask' film.
I know it must have took some willpower to keep going.
Such folk are the real inspirations in life to us - yes? Not Hollywood vanity, daftness, people with more money than sense, etc.
Yes indeed.
But meanwhile - I been living in this dustbin for years. Call me Top Cat! lol.
Note from Top Cat. lol. - It's fascinating in a way - we want to look up more of the story, yes? How was everyday life for him, etc.
Yeah it must have been hard.
I read he could come out of it for periods at a time. But a life-long dependence on it, or since age 6 anyway.
Yeah must have been hard going.
