Rivers

Butterflychic

Rivers of my love, they were flowing for you

As I stare at the sky thinking about what we use to do
A pining heart, a soul left broken
Wondering why you left those words unspoken
They say it was forbidden like a story from hell
But they'd never understand it, we would never tell

Rivers of my love, they were flowing for you
Even when you tore my heart in two
As I try to count the stars up high
Hoping that my tears would dry
It was not supposed to go this way
my bleeding aching heart was swayed

I still feel your breath upon my face
Your arms so tightly around my waist
I can taste your sweat so sweet and wet
But now I starve in sweet regret
I can hear your laughter inside my head
I cannot shake the things you said

Rivers of my love still flows for you
We belong to another this is painfully true
I  feel your touch it haunts my dreams
I try so hard to calm the screams

Your voice like silk upon my ears
My body numb as  you crush my fears
For once, in a long time mine was a beating heart
Until you said goodbye and I fell apart
All I wanted was love returned
You said love is what you so desperately yearned
As the Rivers of my love flows for you I wonder how long I'd have to cry

Only the stars in the heavens knows how badly I need these rivers to run dry
