Ode to Neruda

Reynaldo Casison

'I need the sea,

because it teaches me' Neruda

Your Poetic genius,

is like the ocean vast,

Wheat glimmering,

From the heavenly stars,

Intimate yet far,

Passion,

Sweet and raw as tears,

The moon of the rains kiss,

Sun of nocturnal winds,

Upon a Chile ever rose,

Sonnets with their fishnets,

and fine bonnets,

On loves velvet repose,

Naked sighs,

Upon the galloping breasts,

Of waves,

Waxen,

And exotic shores,

That shimmers on and on

Reynaldo Casison
