The Shadow I Once Knew

Arielle Rose

Would you stand in the rain with me, tears falling silently down our faces as we reminisce on the things that were but could never be?

The world still and silent as time passes by.. our sorrows vanishing as the rain falls softly against the ground beneath us.

I was never meant to be .. yet here I am and here you are.. how we made it this far I will never know but this moment before us speaks true and strong.

My hand gently brushing against your face, all that is there was a flicker of what I once knew, the rain melting between my fingers and fading into a whisper of the past.

Will you ever appear at my side or will I be forever alone standing in the silhouette of the night against the moonlight?

One day.. forever.
