Sunflower Baby

mtrotter1

I look into the realest eyes, the realest eyes of all

And sometimes I stare into the ceiling

That never talks back

And the greatest honor is looking into your eyes

Knowing that there is mercy in the stars

And truly I'm not dead yet

But someday I will be

And all the memories will dread my name

For my name carries weight;

Will you live to see me die,

Or will you live to see me in limbo?

For I am never against love, but love is against me

And somehow I make it to the end

With white sheets in sunshine

I wrestle with my thoughts

And a terrifying past awakens me

And I am willing to risk it all for you

For whose naked body is it

That you desperately want to bury?

For my big mouth will never tell your confession

I solemnly promise, yet do I swear?

For the devil's body is bare;

I feel nothing, for I am so numb

The ceiling has lost...

For the realest eyes begin to disappear

And the sunflower has died.
