You say that when you are high,
you feel like you are soaring.
That after two or three pulls,
you able to mingle and chat
Without it, you are hollow,
as silent as the grave
With it, you feel alive
You say your pain fades to numbness,
a relaxed chill takes its place,
When Lost in your thoughts, cravings consume you,
A desperate call to release the fumes.
Aren’t you aware that it leads to cancer,
that creeps at a slow, silent pace.
The words said, full of deceit,
Family bonds strained as the cycle repeats.
You wear a heavy disguise,
but the eyes never betray, they never deceive.
The cover-up is a fragile facade,
I can clearly guess that messy charade
Slowly, you fade and you are led astray,
Into darkness where hope seems flawed.
But it's not okay, it's never okay,
To drown in these distractions,
Embracing your passions is the better way,
Not these doses that you take in fractions
Messing you up day by day
Pray, ask God to give you the faith,
Sing, for relief , let go of the pain,
Write and don’t hold back,
Let your emotions make it rain
Dance to shake off the stress,
No longer will your life be a mess.
Surround yourself with those who care,
Together, laugh, together, share,
Joy or pain, in no time, your demons will flee
In their company true relief you'll see.
I ask if you could let go of the dope,
Seek the light of the new dawn .
I know that you are meant for more,
Read, there is a better reward in knowing more,
Make a difference, as you're meant to do.
