Flashes of light
Along thin threads of glass
That tell tales
Of love and hate
Wires and words
The world compressed
Into true or false
Flashes of light
Converted into words
Through cold cabinets
In impersonal blocks of data
The speeding of life
Matching their clocks
Flashes of light
These lightning strikes
Echo around the world
As we hold hands
Waiting for the next wave
The sound of thunder
These flashes of light
