The truth hurts when it is written by source
Oh what a jacked up anniversary this is
And since the 1960s
Women have been afraid of biblical truth
And men learn to dawn it with their expectations
Trouble and strife are only in poor homes,
but is that also true?
And silence learns to be present
Because all it has is talking ears...
Oh what good does the grandpa do
When the grandma runs away?
She battles the roses from left to right
And cries in the fields each morning
Somewhere in that apple tree there is a blueprint
To a better life at hand
And the only star you'll reach will be a gray one
For it is too old to shine anymore
And within the presence of a good listener
Is foreign engagement
Set up by the angels at bay
What biblical resistance do women have to fear
When the men of Adonis exchange?
For two souls don't always need a righteous path
And spiritually the dots connect
Wayward ears do listen to the oceans falling
And righteous laws begin to unravel...
Oh bye bye listener, for your ears are half blind
The Bible floats in the water
Yet His words will never be left behind
And who wears a Superman cape anymore?
For there are no real life heroes on the streets
Freedom's skies are blue
But yesterdays are true
And wonderance is just a call away;
Freedom dances in the streets like a newborn son
And the ravaging of the roses pass
Oh how beautiful is the sun
When it is beaming upon sin?
The glass doors have shattered once again...
Emotional debts bother a man
When his woman cannot hear
She scratches the door like she's a wanton cat
And the trickling of the bells scream,
So he opens the Bible for guidance
And wonders who is listening--
A sacred shadow comes to haunt him;
Rose, rose, are you there?
Take me back to the 60s where no one is spared
Shake down these walls and keep them dry
Where art thou dear Moses?
I need your breath on high
For justice is cursed
In the middle of a plantation road,
My fathers have come to speak.
