A Red Exit Sign

Euthyphro

I hope you find yourself alive

While staring at the glow of a red exit sign

Realizing that you have been asleep for weeks

I hope you start to find peace in your melancholy

Thick and sweet like petrichoir

After finally walking out of the door

On a rainy Sunday morning

I hope you finally feel

And do so softly

Like the warm glow

Of a red exit sign intermixing in with the darkness

I hope you bathe in those muffled wonders

Which had always been there waiting

On the other side of the door

I hope you promise yourself

To really walk out of

That door that you walk out of

And then one day I hope you walk back in

To reach back into that darkness, brave and steady

Like the hopeful glow of a red exit sign

And show another lost soul the way out
