A Wall

Greg M Cole

A wall...

Built with fear;
Acrimonious angst,
Poisoned soul.
Brick-upon-brick,
With malignant mortar
And self-centered greed.

Instead - a bridge?
Reaching,
Connecting,
Blessing.

No!
A wall!
Don't disrupt my comfort!
Don't make me think!
Don't let me see...
The injustice,
The hurt,
The destruction.
Don't disrupt my blindness!
Let me continue to be...
The problem.

A bridge
Instead!
