I tell you all my secrets like you might be listening
My words silver dust, tumbling into deep space
I’ve shared with you all of my worries for years now
But never will we speak face-to-face
Do you listen when I talk to you?
As I whisper soft into the back of beyond
Maybe you’ll hear me as my voice breaks through
The visionary, but still, you can’t respond
I remember you loved the amber roses, red
You showed me the stars once, sky black
Racing the rain as time bled
You were lost, not even the mermaid’s song can bring you back
You are such as the sea
A wave in my life: here for a minute, now gone
Your angel touch can no more reach me
Please tell me, loved one, where have you gone?

- Comment from author about the poem: Wrote this one in a class. Using paint chip cards. It's about losing my dad to illness in 2016. References to the ocean are because my dad was a sailor. And the ocean is special to my heart
