Keep Moving

MindPoems

I put my head into the water and watch the anchor drop

Down down deeper deeper into the darkness
Waiting for a flash of light when it hits the ground
But no flash, No light
Where has it gone?

Running through white corridors
Of somewhere I don't know
Chased by a cartoon bad guy from a film made long ago
Hiding in plain sight trying not to breathe
Does he see me? I don't know
I don't know

Watching two aeroplanes stuck still in the sky
No movement no nothing
Forever facing each other in a bright blue sky
Neither up nor down high or low

Running round corners to meet myself
In through one door on a terraced street
Only to find the same warm circus of silence inside
Again through the archway into the room
That's as big as you can feel

A million miles from your eyes to your fingertips
Always something new to think about
But the same old images visit your dreams
Just keep moving, just keep moving
Run a finger round your arm
And just keep moving
