Religion, people’s after-death reassurance policy, it comes in many forms
It has no unsatisfied customers. It is protected from litigation’s harm
It offers guarantees that none can refute; it is the perfect scam
Like slick, cunning foxes, they pounce on innocent, unsuspecting lambs
After death reassurance for sale, your independence is its price
Its inventors, pampered, rich, indulgent, deceitful, and full of vice
Its victims, sincere, faithful, naive, hopeful, and successfully fleeced
In return for cash and unquestioned obedience, they find release
Its inventor’s dream, a ticket to the easy life of fortune and fame,
Afterlife assurance comes without validation; it is the perfect game
Solace and release from guilt for sale, the best sales pitch is its aim
More sheep, more money, more power, more submissive suckers to tame
Like sheep to the slaughter, you have a new master. You must be meek
A master puppeteer, your money and unquestioned loyalty they seek
I am the master, you the slave. The man upstairs, where does he fit?
Your after-life reassurance agent is the only one he communicates with.
