i believe in the theme of the giving tree

selflessly offering everything you have to your love

without expecting anything from above.

 

my heart has searched for you since the beginning

and i found you while army was winning.

 

looking at you, i felt something new.

the roaring in my head seemed to cease

leaving space for the world to say

"and be happy".

 

and be happy is what i am

after spending this year of marriage with you

as much as i am your giving tree

you are mine, too.

 

i have seen you grow

and it has brought me so much hope.

it is in the ways in which you never lie

and hold me while i cry.

 

no matter what is in store

i vow to always be waiting by the shore

for your return home to me.

 

if the roars of the waves are too much

and my head is too loud

i still vow to never cut you down

and sail away as such.

 

i love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.
