Ode to Pain'

Mason Vollman

Let me talk about this love and pain,

It's like a storm cloud, pouring down like rain.

Started out sweet, like candy in the sun,

But now it feels like all we do is run.

Love's a game, yeah, we play it hard,

But sometimes it leaves us scarred.

Got me feeling like I'm walking on a tightrope,

One wrong step and I'm losing hope.

But pain, it's a teacher, it's a friend,

Shows us where our hearts truly bend.

It's like a fire burning deep inside,

Reminding us we're alive, we can't hide.

Love and pain, hand in hand,

Like the ocean and the sand.

Through the highs and lows, we remain,

In this crazy dance of love and pain.

Love, it lifts us up,

makes us soar,

But when it's gone, it leaves us wanting more.

Pain, it's a shadow, it's always near,

But it reminds us that love is real, it's sincere.

Sometimes it feels like we're caught in a maze,

Lost in the memories of better days.

But we keep pushing through, we keep fighting,

Cause in the end, love's worth all the writing.

Love and pain, they go hand in hand,

Like the rhythm of a beat,

like a marching band. So let's embrace them both,

let's not be afraid, In this crazy journey, they're the serenade.

(Love and pain, hand in hand,

Like the ocean and the sand.

Through the highs and lows, we remain,

In this crazy dance of love and pain.

So when you're feeling lost,

when you're feeling blue,

Just remember that love will see you through.

And when the pain cuts deep, when it feels like the end,

Know that love's around the bend.

"Long live the rose that grew from a crack in the concerete,

when nowone else ever cared..."

  • Comment from author about the poem: When I got enough confidence, the stage was gone. When I was sure of losing, I won. When I needed people the most, they left me. When I learnt to dry my tears, I found a shoulder to cry on. And when I mastered the art of hating, somebody started loving me. -William Shakespeare
