Hollow Girl

Mary73223

Come one Come all

Step up to the show

And witness the girl

Of ashes, shadows, and snow

The frozen heart

That rests in her chest

Once whole, a masterpiece

Now hollowed, shattered, and distressed

"Oh this wretch"

"This fallen soul"

The audience gasps

While they skirt the toll

"This hollow form, of spite and sorrow"

Was once a girl who dreamed of tomorrow

She sang tunes of blossoms and laughter

Until life robbed her, and chased her disaster

Among the throng

All seated in rows

A little girl lingers, in whispers and throes

With daffodils dancing, and ribbons that glow

She observes the wreckage

Laid bare on the stage

And finds in the chaos

Her heart starts to gauge

In hopes she can mend

Before time slips away

Before her heart hardens

And transforms into clay.
