Accidental Poet



 

Something knocking at my heart’s door

Inspirational and poetic

Genuinely from my Muse

  Very real and not synthetic

 

Gnawing upon my thoughts

Pulling on my passion

Whole heartedly honest

Of complete full ration

 

I know not what it is

Only that it won’t let go

And committed in pursuit

I follow in resolute tow

 

For what can possess

A man’s conscience

That he can’t turn away

But he needs no defense

 

I may never solve this quest

But I’ll not give up

Elusive it might be

Determined, I’m just as tough

 

Sooner or later

I’ll put words to this mystery

Even if I have to search

The depths of history
