He loves me, he loves me not

Peculiarly Lauren

Here’s the thing about us

He likes his coffee black

Hot

with no sugar

I like caramel Macchiatos

Ice cold.

He likes red wine

And I only drink white

I thought he loved me

- But apparently all I did was assume.

He says I sing softer than anyone he’s ever heard.

Yet he dances along to each and every word.

And I know if we had given it a chance.

if he had not been so scared.

He could have loved me right

but we are two wrongs.

And I don’t know if that’s enough for more than a night,

— just between us

I was always willing to put up a fight.
