In a world that clings to mystery and mystique,
There lurks a question, curious and unique,
"Why underwear?" we all exclaim,
The answers to this riddle are never quite the same.
Is it a plot by those who make the suds,
To keep us washing, scrubbing in our tubs?
Detergent manufacturers with a secret wish,
To see our skivvies swirling in a soapy dish?
Or is it a fear, a terror quite unspoken,
Of marks unseemly, and garments awoken?
A stain upon our pride, a skid upon our name,
Without our underwear, would life ever be the same?
Boxers, briefs, or lacy little numbers,
We all have a choice that grants us slumbers,
For comfort, style, or utility's sake,
Without them, oh the faux pas we would make!
So let us praise the pants that keep us neat,
A life without them would be quite incomplete,
Raise a cheer for underwear, in all its splendid forms,
A necessity, a comfort, the norm among the norms!

Funny stuff. Great work.
Always taken my own underwear very much for granted; have varying levels of interest in the other categories you list in your brief, funny rhymer.....
