Birds In The Fire

mtrotter1

Tis I, the queen of controversy

The stigma that leads to nowhere

Think of how jolly my friends must be

I am dead without remorse

The controversy that leads me be

But it is not without my love

The joy that makes me happy

The man that cuts my bow tie at both ends

The death that bares my soul

As we dance to the devil's music

And we drink till our souls are bare

And we smoke cigarettes till dawn

I have the key to such fate

And such fate has the key to happiness,

For happiness is such a thrill

And even till then I must warn you

That happiness is such a kill

Are you the one that inspires me?

For inspiring me is such a thrill

You are the rose that cuts through me

Like a shadow in the dark...for the shadow is my angel

And I hear the birds roaring

Let me be a lifeless body

Trapped in happiness I shall be

Emptying my pockets with meaningless change

How much do I have left?

The eyes of a bird catch a feather,

A feather that has weathered many storms

And if my eyes catch on fire,

Would I be an innocent breed?

And if my eyes catch on fire,

Would I be dead indeed?

For we are birds in the fire

Trying to breathe.
