The tissue paper hearts of ours are plastered on social media.
We proclaim, "I love you," as if drinking water.
We declare friendship with ships we never pass briefly.
Those acquaintances do not rise to strangerhood. Yet passionately and with the emotion of eating tomatoes, we smooch with emojis. We say that we would never dare face-to-face.
Yes, tissue-paper hearts.

Not 'we' - there are some few free of such superficiality.
But from pure observation many adhere to that template.
Enjoyable write.
