Who I Am

Shamia Braithwaite

Who I am is not who I want to be

A girl with no purpose, no future to see

Who I am is not who I want to be

With fake lies like a fantasy

A girl with no love, compassion, or empathy

Who I am is not who I want to be

A vessel of emotions lifeless but free

Who I am is not who I want to be

With false expectations

Comprised of countless limitations

Who I am is not who I want to be

A ticking time bomb you see

Who I am is not who I want to be

A presence that you feel

Who’s anger you cannot heal

Who I am is not who I want to be

A tiring soul who haunts we

Who I am is not who I want to be

The will to kill happiness

A girl filled with selfishness

Who I am is not who I want to be

A human who is not to be

Who I am is not who I want to be

A person like me

I am who I do not want to be
